The Whitney

I was delighted when I found myself on the east side (another country) yesterday.  I was walking around and passed The Whitney Museum of American Art, known to me simply as The Whitney.  I went in there years ago and remember not liking anything in there.  As I was passing by yesterday, the displays for the exhibits did not foster a sense of rushing through the doors for me this time, either.  So I kept walking.

Then I saw in a window an exhibit for Mickey Mouse movie cells.  I was sold.  Simple me.  So I turned around and went back towards the front door.  Besides, I thought, when in the world would I be on the east side again?  And when would I actually carve out time to come to the Whitney?  I am not so sure I would.

So I walked up to the the door.  Lo and behold, the museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

After that, I decided I need to make more of an effort to go places in NY.  Destinations.  I have done some things, but want to do more. . .
