I love it when the sun is out. No rain today. It's gorgeous and I love it when it is warm. I often wonder if I will wind up somewhere warm.
I had a french homework assignment for my class tonight. It was absolutely hysterical how long it took me to complete. It is amazing to me how the English language has become second nature. I do not even think about speaking except when I am searching for a particular word in my brain.
I am reading The Stuff of Thought by Steven Pinker. Pinker is a Harvard College Professor and former MIT professor who focuses on the brain and cognitive sciences. An old boyfriend's father used to buy us all books for Christmas and he bought me two books by Pinker. I never picked them up until now. I have only just started this one.
Through this book, Pinker shows us things about ourselves. How we communicate (obviously). "How our words relate to thoughts and to the world around us and reveals what this tells us about ourselves."
It will be an interesting read while I study French. If only it didn't take me two hours to write a 10 sentence letter en français. . .
