Midtown vs. Downtown

A dear friend of mine is in town and we went to lunch today.  Poor thing needed to be near Penn Station and I dragged her down to Nolita.  Nolita is east of SoHo below Houston Street.  A super great neighborhood.  After lunch, we walked through neighboring Little Italy through a tiny park.  Old timer Italian men were crowded around a picnic table.  I thought they were playing chess as that is a popular park game in NY.  They were playing dominoes!  Adorable.

When she lived here, we spent a lot of time in restaurants, so back to a cute little restaurant we went for lunch.  The ambiance was delightful as was the food.  This was so not midtown. . .

I can't wait for her to come back this weekend!!!
