Au Revoir

Trying to say goodbye to sugar has been a challenge.  Picking up a raw diet has been interesting.  What I have been wanting to keep out of my daily eating routine sneak back in easily, almost without my attention.

Of course, what I love is agave, coconut and cacao.  These are not considered raw by the true raw foodists, but I am just a beginner.  Amateur.  So they make it onto my list.  There is a lot to read out there.  On agave and on raw food.  But what I do know better than any scientific paper I have read is that some agave makes me want more agave.  My body seems to be extremely sensitive to sugar, in the processed form as well as the "natural" form.  With that as a litmus test, I need to find another sweetener.  Agave tastes like sugar to me.  My body reacts to it like sugar.

The raw food itself feels a bit too restrictive.  I am not a huge meat eater, but some chicken or tuna tartare definitely appeals to me.  Grains appeal to me.  I need something to bite into sometimes.  So I do.

Au revoir agave . . . for now.  This is more experimental than anything else.  I am headed back to the natural food market to find a more suitable sweetener for me.
