Welcome Oscar!

Bridgette and I have a new addition, Oscar!

He is 9 months old and we love him to pieces.  We brought him into our family on Sunday and he is adapting to the city quickly.  Just like for Bridgette, the city is a big adjustment with a lot of loud noises, concrete and people.  But we are easing him in and already spending a lot of time in Central Park.

We had a long Sunday night with about 2 hours of sleep for all of us (I think Bridgette slept through some of it) but last night was much better.  The harness and lead are also new for Oscar, but he did amazingly well.  Already picking up on the "heel" command.   He is not heeling here, but lazing in his Superman pose (the second picture, the Twisted Superman, does not look so comfortable).

He is such a sweet dog, and typical of Brussels Griffon character, sticks close by (but is not protective), is curious and lovable.  Bridgette and he are getting along well.  Bridgette has been a good sport about a new dog in the house.  No growling, biting, or bad attitude.  She has been really wonderful.  Bridgette is on the left, Oscar on the right.

I thought this was just a funny picture of Oscar because of the angle, it looks like his legs belong to another miniature dog.

And so life rolls on.  I am super happy and the stress level is beginning to dissipate after 2 months of being out of my job.  Admittedly, I had one of those moments of panic this morning thinking about my future and what it will look like.  But I told myself that I agreed to live in the question.  I committed to living in the unknown.  That is the only way this will work for me.

Interestingly, when I have conversations about my future, most people assume that I will go into some type of legal practice connected to a particular interest (which I will discover during my time off).  That is definitely a possibility.  However, because I have found that I really dislike practicing, I suspect I will use more of the negotiating and analyzing skills I developed as well as the skills I developed in my role as a director rather than actually practicing law.  My process is to shelve my skills and develop my personal skills during this time off.  Find out what I love to do.  Then marry the two.

The List is super long today.  Bridgette, Oscar and I are wishing you a fabulous day.
